In the experiment the differences among Sakiz, Ara and Yerli types(divagated types of Sakiz) were investigated in terms of morphological, cytologicaland molecular features.According to the ploidy study results the ploidy levels of Sakiz, Ara type andYerli type of artichoke were found to be same. Chromosome counting results showedthat no differences among all types of cv. Sakiz and these results were supported byflow cytometry analysis.Molecular studies carried by RAPD technique showed that Sakiz, Ara typeand Yerli type plants were observed as closely related in genetically means. Thesethree types took part in the same group of the dendogram.GA3 treatments were found to be effective either on morphological or onearliness characteristics of the plants. It provided 12 days earliness in Sakiz, 14-16days in Ara type and 14 days in Yerli type plants.Key Words: Globe artichoke, C. scolymus, chromosome, RAPD, molecular markerII
