Samsun Metropolitan Municipality fire department İlkadim Region Group Amirity analysis of year 2016 records in terms of disaster management

This is a study with retrospective type and the research data were obtained from Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department İlkadım Group Administration. The incident covers the annual case reports for one year between 01 January 2016 and 31 December 2016. The study aims to present scientific proposals to contribute to a risk-based disaster management system and to take precautions and measures against fires and other emergencies and to minimize the loss of life and property by identifying the hazards leading to fire and other emergency situations. The frequency, and percentage distribution, One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA), Chi-Square Independence Test and Single Sample Chi-Square Test have been used in the analysis of the data collected from the reports of the 2001 incidents. When the distribution of the incident types related to fire brigade is examined in this study, the fire (%42,3) has been determined to be in the first place, and it has been followed by the animal rescue (%18,6) and security measures (%14,2). When the types of the fire incidents have been examined, home fires have been determined to be the most frequent (%30,4) ones. Among the causes of the fire, cigarette (%21,6) comes the first and electric contact (%21,3) is the second. It has been determined that the home, factory/workplace, and warehouse fires mostly occur between 08: 00-15: 59 hours while vehicle fires mostly occur between 16: 00-23: 59 hours. It has been found that the home fires occur mostly in the winter, grass fires occur mostly in the summer, and the garbage fires mostly occur in the autumn. It has been determined that the duration of intervention for the factory/workplace and warehouse fires is longer than the other types of fire and the difference between these groups is significant.
