Abstract (EN)

To learn about the practices in their opinions and suggestions related to foot and mouth disease (FMD), a questionnaire consisting of 25 questions asked veterinary clinician in AfyonkarahisarOnly 50% of veterinarians surveyed (n = 20) vaccination is effective in combating the disease, 20% (n = 8) was partially effective, and 30% (n: 12) considers that the method is ineffective. 77.5% informed that the breeders, % 80 (n = 32) reported that works to raise awareness of animal owners.The treatment costs In FMD were calculated 101 TL/cattle.Respondents reported that the eradication of foot and mouth disease is not mandatory for membership in the European Union (62.5% n = 25), fighting program was inadequate (80%) currently applicable laws, regulations and practices would not be possible to eradicate foot and mouth disease (57.5% n = 23).New vaccines and diagnostic methods can be applied with the use of the fight against FMD, realistic, and reasonable methods of different needs to be improved. The fight against the disease, the views of the breeders, veterinarians, as well as comments and suggestions should be taken, with the support of the veterinary schools should plan for the entire country.
