Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to determine the walnut genotypes that have superior characteristics in terms of yield and quality among walnut genotypes grown from seedin Sason District of Batman Province in 2018 and 2019. In the study, fruit samples of 92 walnut genotypes were taken by considering the yield and fruit characteristics. As a result of the observations carried out, male and female flowering occurred in April, and male flowers bloom earlier than female flowers, although their flowering duration is close. In the selected walnut genotypes, the highest walnut weight was obtained from the S67 (16.07 g and 15.29 g) genotype in 2 years of the experiment, while the highest walnut weight was obtained from the S67 (6.41 g) genotype in 2018 and the S89 (6.75 g) genotype in 2019. In 2018, the kernel ratio ranged from 33% (S59) to 52.15% (S3) and in 2019 ranged from 34.64% (S30) to 59.38% (S92). Shell thicknesses were 1.27 mm (S43) and 2.22 mm (S79) in 2018; In 2019, it ranged from 1.21 mm (S88) to 2.72 mm (S82). As a result of the chemical analyses carried out in the kernels of the selected genotypes, the oil rates ranged from 38.44% (S 50) to 56.97% (S 79) in 2018, 40.95% (S31) to 72.98% (S3) in 2019, while protein ratios were 11.60% (S 62) to 20.87% (S 58) in 2018 and in 2019 ranged from 13.16% (S6) to 21.27% (S42). Walnut genotypes, which are taken as fruit samples, were subjected to weighed grading separately in terms of shelled and kernel walnut. As a result of the evaluation, 13 genotypes which scored 650 and above in terms of both shelled and kernel characteristics were evaluated as promising genotypes. 2020, 110 pages Key Words:Walnut, selection, breeding, Juglans regia L.,Sason
