Optimization of water use from Selevir Dam

In contrast to the gradual decrease in clean water resources in the world, the need for clean water and food demand have also increased. It has become essential to store the existing water potential in the most efficient way, to use the stored water in the most efficient way and to increase the agricultural efficiency in parallel. The development of the sustainable methods for Turkey, that is not water rich is of great importance. In this study, it is aimed to create an optimum operating model based on the climate data of Selevir Dam, which is the largest dam in Afyonkarahisar Province in terms of storage volume. Optimization was created with the GAMS (The General Algebraic Modeling System) package program.
