Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to generate a module based on document analysis, which is one of the quantitative data collection methods, and to reflect the symbols in the exlibris art within the historical progress, as well as the technique and applications of the exlibris art in the education programs, which are thought at the School of Fine Art and Visual Communication and Graphic Design Departments of the Universities in Turkey.The research consists of four parts. The first part covered the development of symbols in the history and the script, which is the product of symbols, and afterwards the creation of typographic art is examined. In the second part the source of exlibris art and the content of scprit, paper and history of the book together with the emblems and seals which proven the ownership, are examined. In the third part the, by examining the value and function that the exblibris added to the book, cultural, art and sociological dimension of the exlibris and its value as being collection item, is examined. In the forth part, design problems of exlibris and relations between script and symbol is evaluated and some examples are given. Finally, a modul for exlibris art technique and its applications is proposed and suggestions are given.
