Liberal Republican Party (Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası) is a political party which wasestablished at a period when the effect of world economical crisis, was seen densely in Turkey.Although it continued its activities for only 3 and a half months, it has a very important placein Turkish political life.Mustafa Kemal Paşa himself encouraged is establishment to pass to a multi partydemocratic system. Liberal Republican Party (Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası) was set up in 12thAugust 1930 by Ali Fethi who was a close friend of Mustafa Kemal Paşa.Liberal Republican Party started its political life with a programme that defendsliberalism.
