Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of media containing different components on erythromycin production were investigated by using free and immobilized Saccharopolyspora erythraea strain. Antibiotics are microbial secondary metabolites of low molecular weight, which may have positive and / or negative effects on certain regions of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. Erythromycin antibiotic is the most commonly used antibiotic in the clinic and is an antibiotic in the macrolide group. In our study, two different media containing different concentrations of commercial glucose and sugar beet molasses were used as carbon sources for erythromycin production. Bacterial cells were immobilized both freely and with calcium alginate, polyacrylamide gel and their effects on erythromycin production were examined. As a result of our study, the highest yield value was reached with 0.271 µg / ml * hour at the end of the 5th day in the fermentation medium of 60 g / l sugar beet molasses used as carbon source. As a result of immobilization experiments, calcium alginate immobilization yielded the highest efficiency value at the end of 6th day with 0.584 µg / ml * hour. In conclusion, the sugar beet molasses carbon source was found to be cheaper and 4.37 times higher than the commercial glucose. In addition, the results of immobilization with calcium alginate reached 2.16 times higher efficiency than free cell.
