This study explores the objectives (Hikam) of specific Quranic surahs designated in the Sunnah for particular times, events, or acts of worship. It adopts a methodology that combines hadith-based grounding with purposive analysis to reveal the deep connection between the meanings of these surahs and the contexts prescribed for their recitation. The research begins by outlining the maqāṣid of Sharia, the overarching aims of the Quran, and the particular purposes of individual surahs—each addressing a unique dimension of those higher objectives. It then examines textual evidence from the Sunnah—verbal, practical, and tacit—using authentic and sound hadiths that specify certain surahs for specific occasions. The study highlights the virtues of these surahs, as established by textual merits, and analyzes their meanings in light of scholarly tafsir. It emphasizes the correlation between the surahs' purposes and the occasions they are linked to, aiming to uncover the wisdom behind such associations. The conclusion discusses the spiritual, educational, and societal impacts of these designations, and their potential role in addressing contemporary challenges. The research thus offers an integrated perspective that combines revelation-based knowledge with contextual relevance, contributing to the renewal of prophetic engagement with the Quran.
