Abstract (EN)
In addition to being a children's literature writer, Şermin Yaşar has also written novels and stories, including Tarihi Hoşça Kal Lokantası, Göçüp Gidenler Koleksiyoncusu, Gelirken Ekmek Al, Kalk Yerine Yat, Deli Tarla ve Söyleme Bilmesinler. An examination of the characters in these works reveals that the characters often exhibit typological characteristics, and these are used repeatedly. It has been determined that the types share a common approach to events, perspective, emotions, and thoughts. In her book "Method of Novel Analysis," Prof. Dr. Nurullah Çetin categorizes types under subheadings such as "social types" and "psychological types," while Jung, in his work "Types in Psychology," classifies them as "introverted" and "extroverted." Our study is based on these classifications. Social types are socially constructed through acquired status and titles rather than being inherent. Kinship structures and professional roles are central to this construction. In the author's work, the mother-child relationship is particularly prominent. Among occupational types, tradesmen are most frequently depicted, shaped by the author's early observations of his grocer grandfather. Psychological types explore emotional states and behaviors shaped by innate traits, as well as internal conflicts and longings arising from personal experience. Traits like stinginess, laziness, anger, dominance, compliance, and sensitivity reflect inherent aspects of human nature, while conditions such as melancholy or depression stem from experiences related to death, abandonment, trauma, or neglect. Archetypes, a manifestation of the collective unconscious, have also found their way into various forms in works. Archetypes such as persona, shadow, anima, and animus have been frequently used. This study classifies the types found in Şermin Yaşar's novels and short stories, identifies recurring typological structures, and reveals their relationship to the author's narrative choices. The study reveals that psychological types, in particular, stand out prominently and that these structures bear strong ties to the author's individual life experiences.
