Abstract (EN)
Being one of today?s most important communicaton tools, telephone is not just a basic appliance of daily life, but also business processes. Especially, as a result of lower costs caused by improving technologies and established regulations in communication sector, organizations increased their telephone usage for their business relations. On the side of economical improvement, the technological improvement added new functions and concepts to the traditional telephony and thus contributed to the current communication experience and efficiency. The increasing importance of voice communication in business world and the improvements dealed above caused some requirements to arise. For performing business processes correctly and lowering costs more, it has become an important function to watch, analyze and control voice communication traffic. By organizing communication traffic, performance lost caused by calls that proceeds longer than necessary and miscalls will be prevented as well as unwanted telephony traffic over VoIP (Voice Over IP) infrastructure that is generally defined as SPIT (Spam over Internet Telephony) [1] which reduces business efficiency. The purpose of this study is to realize a system that will control the telephony traffic of organizations, particularly the ones that manage business jobs by telephone, and to increase business efficiency by blocking inappropriate calls or arranging them by certain rules using dynamic functions with the help of this system. The application which realizes the system defined on this study is developed in a way that is compatible with different voice communication systems and is based on a design that is independent from platform and area of application. Thus, it becomes possible to use the defined functions for independent and varied purposes as well as extending limited features of present voice communication systems and bringing new and unique features that may be required by an organization. The system designed in this study is realized by an application developed using JAVA [4] programming language which was chosen to provide platform independency. To test the application results, a set of scenarios concerning voice communication traffic on a typical organization were defined and calls being carried on a present open source software PBX Asterisk [3] installation were tracked and regulated by determining rules within these scenarios.
