Determination of quality and pollution levels on groundwater in Seydisuyu Basin

Groundwater is alternative sources of clean water declining in recent years and the consequences of global warming which is important in increasing the use of surface waters in the regions of drought than the head waters remain clean. Among sources of fresh water ice and snow waters of the next largest volume of sources are groundwaters. The quality of drinking water sources such as potable water and irrigation water is important due to the usages in different areas. Our country's the major river basin is Sakarya Basin's sub-basins Seydisuyu Basin have polluted due to both the geological structure and human activities and it has varied groundwater's quality. Within the scope of master's thesis, Seydisuyu Basin is located within the well to use 20 different irrigation and drinking water samples were taken seasonally between 2012-2013 years. Groundwater samples are taken from elemantal arsenic and boron and some physico-chemical parameters were examined in particular, they were statistically evaluated and basin is shown with maps of groundwater pollution levels by using GIS tools.
