Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the effect of music played to women giving birth by cesarean section on early pain, comfort, and mother-baby bonding. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 62 women with cesarean delivery who were admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Bilecik Training and Research Hospital. The sample consisted of two groups: the experimental group (n=31) and the control group (n=31). Data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Postpartum Comfort Scale (PPCS), and Mother-Infant Attachment Scale (MBIS). Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS V23 and JAMOVI V2.3.21. It was found that women in the experimental and control groups were similar in age, education, marital status, family status, economic status, employment, spouse's education, spouse's employment, and social security (p>0.05). Women in the experimental and control groups were similar in terms of obstetric characteristics (number of pregnancies, miscarriages, abortions, and stillbirths) (p>0.05). In the experimental group, there was a decrease in pain scores at the 2nd measurement 30 minutes after the first application and at the 4th measurement 30 minutes after the second application (p<0.05). Listening to music after cesarean delivery had no effect on increasing mother-baby bonding, general comfort, or physical and socio-cultural comfort of women (p>0.05). However, the psychospiritual comfort level of women in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (p<0.05). According to these results, it was concluded that the music played from the Acemashiran maqam was effective on psychospiritual comfort feelings and pain reduction in women who gave birth by cesarean section, but there was no significant difference in mother-baby bonding.
