Abstract (EN)
In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of cesarean section scar due to previous cesarean section operations on the obstetric outcomes of the patient in the following pregnancies and to monitor the pregnant women who had cesarean section. The study was planned retrospectively on pregnant women who had a history of cesarean section before and applied at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology between 18th of July 2017 to 31st of December 2018. In this context, the files of 65 pregnant women were screened and age, gravida, parity, abortus, time between cesarean sections, gestational week of previous cesarean section delivery, cesarean delivery conditions (emergency or elective), cervical length, placental localization, postpartum hemorrhage history, antenatal vaginal bleeding status, gestational week of pregnancy, APGAR scores at 1st and 5th minutes and birth weight of the baby were recorded. However, the thickness of miyometrium in the cesarean scar line of the patients was measured using transvaginal ultrasonography (TVUSG) at the 1st trimester of pregnancy. 37 patients with residual miyometrium thickness <8 mm were included in the study group and 28 patients with miyometrium thickness >8 mm were identified as the control group. Statistical analysis of the obtained data was done by SPSS 23.0 for Windows computer program with t-test, ANOVA, chi-square and Pearson correlation analysis. According to the findings obtained from the study, significant differences were found between the study and the control group in terms of parity and miyometrial thickness. On the other hand there was a negative correlation between miyometrium thickness and parity, and a positive correlation between the 1st minute APGAR score. On the other hand, miyometrium thickness was significantly lower in patients with a history of post partum hemorrhage. As a result, increased cesarean section number was determined as a risk factor for miyometrium thickness. Key words: Cesarean section, cesarean scar defect
