Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study were isolation of summer mastitis factor Trueperella pyogenes from mastitic cattles in Aydin and determination of antibiotic resistances of that isolated factors. In this study, 150 mastitic milk samples were analyzed in Aydın province in summer season (Jun-July-August). Collected samples were brought to The Routine Diagnostic Laboratory of Microbiology Department, Veterinary Faculty, Adnan Menderes University under cold chain. Then was allowed to incubate for 24 hours at 37 ºC. After that, Gram positive bacterias are separated by using Gram Staining and isolated bacterias were identified based on biochemical assays. Of the 150 analyzed mastitic milk samples, 12 Trueperella pyogenes strains (% 8) were isolated and identified. All the studied strains were found resistant to Penicillin/Novobiocin, Danofloxacin, Oxytetracycline, Kanamycin/Cephalexin and Sulfamethoxazole-Trimethoprim (100 %). Nine strains were found resistant to Cefoperazone and Colistin sulphate, while three strains were sensitive. Resistant 3 strains, moderately sensitive 3 strains and sensitive 6 strains were present against Linmycine/Neomycin. Resistance to Amoxycillin Clavulanic Acid, Erythromycin, Ceftiofur and Florphenicol occurred in 3, 9, 6 and 6 strains, respectively. As 6, 3 and 3 strains were determined moderately sensitive to Amoxycillin Clavulanic Acid, Erythromycin and Florphenicol, in the same order. Sensitive strains were also existing to Amoxycillin Clavulanic Acid, Ceftiofur and Florfenikol in the amount of 3, 6 and 3. As a result of this study, isolation and identification of T. pyogenes from summer mastitis cases were performed in Aydin province. Antibiogram tests showed that T. pyogenes were developed resistance to many antibiotics. It is concluded that for the success in mastitis treatment, antibiogram tests should be performed before antibiotic decision.
