Abstract (EN)
In the developing and transforming world, the needs and expectations of human beings are constantly changing and renewed in parallel with technological developments. Materials Science has an important place in these technological developments. In this thesis, Ni₃Al intermetallic was formed by the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) and coated on the copper surface at the same time. Samples, which are Cu in the core and Ni-Al on the surface, were produced. After that, SHS method was applied to the samples at 600, 800 and 1000⁰C. In this way, while Ni-Al powders were transformed into Ni₃Al intermetallic with the effect of temperature, the surface of Cu was coated with Ni₃Al. Also, sintering of Cu was realized. In order to examine these formations, SHS atmosphere was changed. Air, nitrogen and argon were used as atmospheres. After formed samples were applied metallographic process, hardness and microstructure of the samples were investigated by using the Vickers hardness test.
