Abstract (EN)
This study, which was carried out with a methodological design, was conducted to adapt the smoking cessation process to the Health Belief Model. Data were evaluated in IBM SPSS 26 and AMOS 24 programs. In determining the validity of Health Belief Model Based Smoking Cessation Process Scales; content validity, criterion validity and construct validity analyzes were used. The content validity is above 0.90 at all scales. Internal criterion validity; lower-upper group comparison (t= 25.852 - 155.212 in all scales, p=0.000 significance level.) and item-total score correlations (except for 1 item in the"Normative Beliefs Scale, it is between 0.243 to 0.748 in all scales and have acceptable values.) evaluated with. In the explanatory factor analysis in which construct validity was evaluated; "Kaiser Meyer Olkin" (0.660 - 0.931) and "Bartlett's Test" (p<0.001), eigenvalue analysis (1.716 - 5.626), total variance explanation (34.322% - 51.144%) were examined. In confirmatory factor analysis, fit indices of scales were found to be in the acceptable/excellent fit range. In order to determine the reliability of the scales; internal consistency reliability coefficients (cronbach alpha: 0.505 - 0.901), split half method (r: 0.384 - 0.818), item-total score correlations (0.293 - 0.748), scoring consistency (intraclass correlation: 0.505 - 0.901), Hotelling's T2 test (F= 147.172 - 691.686, p=0.000), standard error were studied. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the Health Belief Model Based Smoking Cessation Process Scales developed by the researchers are valid and reliable measurement tools.
