Abstract (EN)
Medical application errors that may occur in the performance of health services and the increase in compensation lawsuits filed as a result of these show the importance of providing professional protection to doctors. On the other hand, in parallel with the multi-dimensional development of the concept of responsibility with its legal and criminal dimensions, liability insurance has developed at the same rate and started to be applied in many sectors. Especially in recent years, professional groups such as doctors, notaries, architects, lawyers, financial advisors have felt the need to secure themselves with their professional liability insurances. The fact that doctors are under the pressure of responsibility may cause them to feel insecure while performing their profession and avoid difficult and risky practices. This has the potential to have negative effects on public health and lead to serious grievances. At this point, Compulsory Financial Liability Insurance for Medical Malpractice has an important function in terms of meeting the financial burden faced by doctors both self-employed and employed in public or private institutions due to legal liability, and the patients who suffer damages against the doctors who harms them.
