Abstract (EN)
In this study; As, B, F concentrations of natural geothermal spring outflows in Simav Stream (Balıkesir) basin and geothermal outflows in Kula region of Manisa province were compared and their possible effects on other water resources were revealed. Eleven samples during dry and wet periods were taken from Sındırgı Hisaralan geothermal field, including natural outflow, mixture and Simav Stream surface water. Scatter plots were drawn for As, B and F in order to determine the extent of the effect of natural outflows in Hisaralan geothermal field on Simav Stream. It was observed that the minimum and maximum values of Arsenic (57,28- 67,04µg/l), Boron (3,47- 5,41mg/l) and Fluorine (5,17- 10,07mg/l) of the samples consisting of a mixture of surface water and natural outlets were above the permissible limit values in the water pollution control regulation. The analysis results of the samples taken from Hisaralan geothermal area were compared with As, B and F analyses for dry and wet periods on 4 geothermal springs and 3 surface water samples from 7 sampling sites in Kula district of Manisa province and with WHO and Ministry of Health's Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption. As a result of the comparison, it is seen that both temperature and As, B and F values are higher in Hisaralan region. While Kula natural outlets and springs comply with the Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption in terms of boron and fluorine except arsenic, Hisaralan samples are not suitable for use and irrigation water and contain arsenic at values that may pose a high risk especially for health. These sources, which are not suitable for use in terms of their content, can be used for heating, thermal tourism and electricity generation under appropriate conditions.
