Cultural atractiveness in Sinop and use opportunities for tourism purposes

Changing expectations of tourism together with the diversification of travel motives, in recent years interest in different types of tourism increased. In particular the culture factor emerges as an important reason for people to travel today.Cultural tourism, performed in order to cover the activities of tourism is get to know new cultures, meet with past cultures, to learn about the cultures of people of other communities outside of their own culture. To see culturally rich regions of, to learn and to monitor the lifestyles in there, desire to keep as a memory of the cultural values are increasing day by day. Especially tourists who go to rural settlements for this reason want to have food at the local community, to monitor public performances, festivals to attend and to see the old crafts.Sinop is one of the oldest city in Anatolia and known as maritime and commercial since ancient times. Bronze Age to the present Sinop meets various civilizations and geographical location makes Sinop indispensable in hundred years. The city of Sinop, has attracted attention with a strong castle and a natural harbor throughout history.In Sinop, it is possible to find traces of all civilizations who wants to dominate the Black Sea. First, the city was founded as a colony of a Helen and after it was under Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans. Because of Sinop is continuous residential area starting with the first colonists movements, traces of different periods and cultural layers has to be found in there.In this study, cultural tourism resources will be determined by in the province of Sinop, also the demographic characteristics of tourists, travel purposes, evaluating the attractiveness of cultural perceptions about aspects of the province of Sinop and Sinop's cultural tourism potential is introduced.
