Abstract (EN)

In this study, water samples were collected from 11 (eleven) different stations located between Sinop and Samsun provinces during the whole year, and the physicochemical properties of the samples were determined to determine the water quality. The change in the temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential), alkalinity, active chlorine, hardness, phosphate, nitrate, and organic matter was discussed with the season change. It has been determined that there are significant changes in physicochemical properties due to seasonal differences. The minimum and maximum results in the selected parameters are as follows: water temperature 17-19,4 °C, pH value 7,59-8,72, dissolved oxygen 7,29-9,62 mg/L, electrical conductivity 337-929μS/cm, ORP 19,2-92,5 mV, Alkalinity 143,33- 236,67 mg/L CaCO3, active chlorine 0,05-0,8 mg/L, hardness 136- 233,33 mg/L CaCO3, Phosphate -0. 002-1,147 mg/L, Nitrate 0,003-0,143 mg/L. According to the quality standards, pH, nitrite, nitrate, and dissolved oxygen levels, the water samples refer to Class I. In terms of conductivity, phosphate, and alkalinity levels water samples are in Class II. Moreover, all samples have been classified as "very hard water" due to the hardness level.
