Abstract (EN)
The acquisition and merger processes of companies bring important changes for the general structure of companies. These changes significantly affect the functioning of companies and these effects can be positive or negative. However, the most affected segment of the process is the employees. The opinions of the employees and their adaptation situation are the main factors that shape the company acquisition and merger processes. In this thesis study, in the literature and in practice, the general framework of the concepts of acquisition and mergers and the effects of these activities on employees were investigated. In the last part of the study, there is a research based on interviews with 30 participants who all reside in Istanbul, are involved in different companies and sectors, and have experienced mergers or acquisitions in the companies they work for. In this research, based on the experiences of the participants in the merger and acquisition processes, information was collected on how they were affected by the process and what this process ultimately brought them. In the light of this information, an evaluation was made regarding the effects of the merger and acquisition processes on employees.
