Abstract (EN)
Purpose: There are studies showing that systemic immune inflammatory index and prognostic nutritional index are determinants of inflammatory disease activity. The aim of our study is to investigate the usability of systemic immune inflammatory index and prognostic nutritional index as a marker in determining disease activity in psoriatic arthritis patients. Methods: Our study included 99 patients aged 18 years and older with a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis who applied to Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Rheumatology Outpatient Clinic between January 01, 2017 and June 1, 2022. The data of the patients such as gender, age, body mass index, age of onset of complaint, comorbidities, smoking were recorded. Additionally, serum hemogram, biochemistry and c-reactive protein values, which were measured during the routine controls of the patients, were recorded. BASDAI, ASAS criteria, joint swelling, presence of dactylitis, sediment and CRP levels were used to evaluate disease activity. PsAQoL , PsAID12 and symptom inventory were used to assess their quality of life. Afterwards, the relation of systemic immune inflammatory index and prognostic nutritional index with psoriatic arthritis activation was evaluated retrospectively. Results: A negative correlation was found between the prognostic nutritional index and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (r=-0.381, p≤0.001) used in the disease activity indicator, ASAS (r=-0.221, p=0.028) and CRP (r=-0.327, p=0.001) and these correlations were statistically significant. A positive correlation was found between the systemic immune inflammatory index and PsAQoL (r=0.229, p=0.022) and ASAS (r=0.199, p=0.048), and these correlations were statistically significant. Conclusion: The significant correlation of the prognostic nutritional index with sedimentation, ASAS and CRP, and the positive significant correlation of the systemic immune inflammatory index with PsAQoL and ASAS and its borderline correlation with CRP suggest that it may guide us in the activity of psoriatic arthritis. Key words: Psoriatic arthritis , Systemic inflammatory index , Prognostic nutritional index , Disease activity
