Abstract (EN)

As a traditional society, Afghanistan has been a gender inequality in the different aspects. Specially women and girls face various obstaacles in education. During from 2001 to 2021 the education system in Afghanistan tried to compensate part of the lack of human resources by educating the youth of this country. In 2001, the educational system of Afghanistan restarted its work in many sectors and got a new life. In this year, women had a less influential role in higher education, and due to many reasons, the appropriate field was not favorable for them to attend educational institutions; But in the last few years, the role and presence of women in higher education has increased. The development of high-quality higher education with favorable conditions and facilities for gender equality based on values such as equal rights, meritocracy, Islamic standards, national solidarity, responsibility and readiness to serve Afghanistan, was the view of the education system toward women, and for the realization of those effective activities and other useful programs were also implemented to increase the meaningful presence of women in the education system of the country. Considering that women have spent their golden age in Afghanistan during the last two decades (2001-2021) and unfortunately, with the re-domination of the Taliban, all the achievements of women have been lost. Therefore, it is necessary to study the status of women's education during the last two decades and to study its strengths and weaknesses.
