Abstract (EN)

Today, immigration, which has an important place at the global level, comes to the fore as political, economic and social issues, especially in our country. While the society's perspective on the phenomenon of migration may be from various perspectives, it may be viewed negatively by some segments. As a result of this situation, hate speech content and discourses can often be shared in the media, especially on social media. Negative discourse targeting immigrants can trigger tensions in society, causing discrimination and prejudice, and as a result, increasing hate speech and anti-immigrant sentiment in society. At this point, the use of media can strengthen negative perceptions towards immigrants through negative headlines, discriminatory language, discourses and visual representations. The main purpose of this study is to analyze how the phenomenon of immigration, which affects the structure of society, affects the society's perspective on the phenomenon of immigration, by analyzing the discourses of political parties on the phenomenon of immigration during the campaigns they carried out during the election process, how the issue of immigration affects political communication in Turkey, and the communication policies of political parties. It is to evaluate what kind of place you have achieved. In this regard, this study has been examined in the context of political communication, examining the fact that discourses on immigration, especially during the election process, marginalize immigrants by creating hate speech and discrimination in society, and is limited to the periods during the 2023 Turkish General Elections process.
