Abstract (EN)
At the beginning of the First World War, Alexandria Port became a gathering place for Jews who were expelled due to Russian rule and Zionist activities in the Ottoman Empire. With the world war, which will show itself, Jews' ideas about Palestine have come to light. The British also tried to get financial support from the Jewish wealthy in the war that will start by using these ideas in their own interests. In 1915, discussions about the establishment of Jewish military units were on the British agenda, and Zionist leaders in America were aware of these events. Indeed, hundreds of Jews from Alexandria to Egypt known as the Zion Mule Union; They were drafted in 1915 to participate in the Gallipoli War. The Zionists argued that the Ottoman Empire should now be destroyed so that Jews could establish a homeland in Palestine. Wladimir Jabotinsky, who was thinking of immigration to Palestine for the cause of the Zionism cause, and therefore came to Alexandria as a Russian newspaper correspondent, met Joseph Trumpeldor. The idea of establishing a Jewish volunteer procession was introduced by Wladimir Jabotinsky, a Russian Jew. The union of about seven hundred people, which will go down in history as the Zion Mule Union, was established under the British flag by order of General Maxwell.
