Taskaya Memili, T., The Effect of Scoliosis-Specific Exercises on Scoliosis Severity, Sleep Quality and Body Image, Başkent University, Institute of Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program Master's Thesis, Ankara, 2024. The study was done in a single group with pre-test, post-test and quasi-experimental design for the purpose of classifying scoliosis-specific exercises on scoliosis distribution, sleep quality, quality of life and body perception among individuals who diagnosed with scoliosis. The study was conducted with 33 adult patients who diagnosed with scoliosis between April and August in 2022 at the Private Scoliosis Center in Ankara. At the beginning of the study, the scoliosis severity of the patients was evaluated by trunk rotation measurement. In the study, Personal Information Form, Scoliosis Appearance Questionnaire, Scoliosis Research Society-22 questionnaire (SRS-22) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale were used before exercise. Scoliosis-specific exercises were performed in a total of 24 sessions, two days a week, one hour, for three months. After the exercise, trunk rotation measurement was performed again and The Scoliosis Appearance Questionnaire, Scoliosis Research Society-22 questionnaire (SRS-22), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale were re-administered. In When the pre-test and post-test findings were compared, it was determined that the trunk rotation angles of the patients decreased significantly, and the average severity of their scoliosis-related symptoms also decreased. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a significant positive increase in body image, sleep quality and quality of life of scoliosis patients (p < 0.05). In the study, it was found that Scoliosis-Specific Exercise helped patients release the degree of their scoliosis and their scoliosis related symptoms, contributing to positive body perception, sleep quality and quality of life. Considering the findings of the study, it provides significant evidence value regarding scoliosis-specific exercises. In this regard, the use of Scoliosis-Specific Exercises by physiotherapists in the treatment of scoliosis will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of conservative treatment.
