Abstract (EN)
In this study, optimum production of calcium hexaluminate and its corrosion resistanceagainst to Isdemir slags have been investigated. Calcium hexaluminate was prepared fromdifferent alumina raw materials (aluminium hydroxide and calcine alumina) and calciumcarbonate powders. The sintering conditions (1600 centigrade degree for 2h) in whichmaximum hibonit phase formed, have been choosen for preparing Calcium hexaluminatepowders. It was obtained by SEM, EDS, XRD analyses. To simulate the corrosion conditions, the test crucibles were prepared for corrosion test by carving them and were filled withIsdemir slag. Later then, treated at 1300 centigrade degree and 1500 centigrade degreetemperatures for half an hour. After corrosion test, infiltrated areas of crucibles were observedby SEM for study of structural changes, by EDS for elemental analyses and X-ray diffractionto identify the phase structures. The influence of processing methods and using differentalumina source on the value of porosity, density and water absorption was studied.
