Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to ascertain ?the classroom teachers? and ?thestudents?? views about preventing and removing disapproved student behavioursbeing faced in classrooms at of primary schools.The universe of the study consists of the whole primary schools in Edirne in2005-2006 Academic Year. The sample is 15 primary schools in the city Centre andHavsa and Uzunköprü towns bounded to Edirne centre.With the purpose of gathering the data, an inquiry was prepared by theresearcher. The inquiry includes with a total of 45 subjects about preventing andremoving disapproved student behaviours in classroom and 4 subjects about theprivate information of the teachers. The reliability and validity analysis of the inquirywas done for the validity of the inquiry. The expert veiws were taken. In order tomeasure the reliability of the inquiry, ?Cronbach Alpha? was used and the multiplenumber of the inqury was found α =.84. The inqury was applied to 136 classroomteachers and 273 fifth grade students. In data analysis, frequency (f), percentage (%),arithmetic average ( x ), if there is a difference among independent groups, One WayVariance Analyse and t test were used.It is found that to remove disapproved student behaviours in classroom, theteachers make eye-contact with the students; warn them orally; ask questions aboutthe lesson; talk to them one by one; sometimes pretend not to see their behaviours;meet with their parents; change their seats and give them new responsibilities.A meaningful difference was found between the views of the teachers andthe students related to preventing disapproved student behaviours in classroom.A meaningful difference was found between the views of the teachers andthe students related to removing disapproved student behaviours in classroom.No meaningful difference was found related to the independent variables(sex, graduation state, vocational priority and the number of students in classroom)among the teachers? views about preventing and removing disapproved studentbehaviours in classroom.Key Words: Classroom Management, Preventing Disapproved Behaviour,Removing Disapproved Behaviour.
