The analyzes of the factors which affected the primary school teachers’ making decision process in their planning for education

This research has been done as a descriptive survey study for the aim of finding outthe factors that affected the teachers? process for making decision while their planningstage.In this research as the technique for gathering data, survey and interview techniqueshave been used. The population of the study included primary school teachers whoresponsible for only primary school teachers (1-5) from primary schools located in twoparts of Adana, Yüreğir and Seyhan which have lower, middle and upper social-economicallevels, in the school year 2004-2005.In this research, the means of gathering data, a survey improved by the researcherfor the aim of determining the factors that affected teachers? decision in their planningstage, ?interview forms? prepared by considering the questions of survey and fordetermining perceptions of teachers what teaching philosophy they have, PhilosophyPreference Assesment (FTDF) which has been improved by Doğanay and Sarı (2002) havebeen used.In the research, ?Elementary educational program, ?Books we have used in class?,?Subject that will be studied? and ?Levels of my students? have been determined as thefactors that teachers have considers the most. ?Plans are in unit periodicals?, ?Questionsarranged in internet?, ?Questions asked in the exams of entering in high school?, ?Readyplans in market?, ?My old plans? and ?Evaluation tests in unit periodicals? have beendetermined as the factors that teachers have considered at least.In the research has been seen that teachers determined that they have ?always?considered mostly the factors involved in the survey and it has been concluded that theyhave given necessary importance to planning.In the research, that ?seniority? variable which took place in survey of which 36factors (%52,17) from 69 factors have considerable differences, have been determined andit has been seen that the more seniority teachers have, the more carefully plans they make.And also from the other variables that have been examined in the research, 24 factors(%34,78) kinds of the schools they graduated from, 12 factors (%17,39) sexuality , 11factors (%15,95) classes they are educating, 3 factors (%4,34) education philosophy theyhave, have been determined as considerable differences. By means of this result, it has beenseen that such variables as sexuality, classes they have educate and educational philosophythey have are not very important variables.Key words: Decision making, planning of education, plans of teachers, teachers?planning decision and factors affected teacher?s decision.
