Abstract (EN)
The new mathamethics program taught in primary schools in the year 2005for the first time has brought about changes in structure and implementation.The objective of this research is to identify teachers? problems in adapting toaforementioned change as well as their expectations and demands regarding theprogramme. So survey search model is used for this resarch.A survey titled ?Problems encountered in the implementation of the newmathemethics program and suggestions for related solutions?. The survey wasadministered in 20 primary schools in the city of İzmir with 226 teachersparticipating.SPSS 11 software was used to analyze collected data. Subproblems wereanalyzed by using t-test, One-way Anova, Kruskal-Wallis, Tukey HSD and Chisquare tests.It was determined that teachers optimistic about the program although theyencountered some problems implementing it. The lack of sample applications andthe lack of course material or necessary supplies were pointed out as the mostimported shortcomings of the program.
