Abstract (EN)
Catalyzers are generally used in reactions which are operated to manufacture products in chemical industry as they process these reactions in shorter time, with higher efficiency and less energy consumption. 21st century faces with a serious energy problem and as fossil sources rapidly diminish, researches in finding solutions in clean energy field have gained much importance both in scientific studies and in local politics and all around the world. Today, one of the environment-friendly sources is hydrogen and main problem in using hydrogen is its storing. As a result of the studies made in recent years, one of the chemical compounds which solve the storing problem and has high energy density found out to be sodium boron hydride. One of the parameters that determine the efficiency of hydrogen production and reaction-run during sodium boron hydride hydrolysis is catalyzer type. This reaction is a catalytic reaction and as production rate of hydrogen gained depends on amount and temperature of catalyzer and NaOH concentration in solution setting, all these parameters need to be examined separately. However, here, instead of very expensive catalyzers (Pt, Ru), cheaper catalyzers are preferable. This study has been made using Co-B-F and Co-B-P catalyzers newly synthesized for sodium boron hydride production. Though, in order to approximate catalytic activity of available catalyzers to expensive catalyzers, these catalyzers have been exposed to microwave and plasm media after being synthesized according to general knowledge and technique. Besides, BET surface analysis, SEM, EDS, X-ray and IR analyses and characterization of these catalyzers have been made. When Co-B-F catalyzer is exposed to microwave with 750 W for 10 minutes in the presence of 10% NaOH, hydrogen production rate is calculated to be 3400 mL/min.g.cat., and activation energy is calculated to be 18.407 kJ/mol. On the other hand, these values are 3022 mL/min.g.cat., and 16.2 kJ/mol in Co-B-P, respectively.
