In this book death cult in Roman Period is explained withthe help of findings, grave types, inscriptions and ancient sources. Also the thought of life after death and philosophers?s ideas on the subject isdiscussed in the study. According to Toynbee, both cremation and inhumation are usedat the same time in Roman World.Another source fort he thesis is ?Excavations at Gözlükule, Tarsus? edited by H.Goldman. Gözlükule Necropolis and its findings are discussed in this study. Accordingto Goldman, Necropolis of Gözlükule dates back to III-IV A.D. In this sense; Necropolisof Soli/Pompeiopolis can also be dated to the same period. As a result, Necropolis of Soli/Pompeiopolis which is used by common people isdated back to I-IV A.D.
