Abstract (EN)
Power plants coal is widely used as fuel. The coal used is influenced from the magnetic area according to their specialities. The ashes that occur when the coal is burned are also influenced by the magnetic area. The magnetization of the material that does not burn in the coal may be measured using the reaction of the ashes in the magnetic area. Thus, the pollution rate of the ashes, most of which are spread to the environment, may be determined. The elements in the coal such as lead, zinc, cadmium, carbon, sulphur, magnezium, nickel and iron are influenced by the magnetic area. These elements may be found in the ashes, too. This may determined with a close study the magnetic features of the coal and ashes. In this study, the ashes in the Soma Power Plant are examined and their magnetic susceptibility values are determined.
