Examining the role of the designer in social and cultural centered exhibitions

In the thesis study titled "Examining The Role of the Designer in Social and Cultural Centered Exhibitions", information about the concept of exhibition and exhibition design were given, also the position of the designer in the exhibition and design stages were examined and investigated in the context of graphic design. The presentations organized were handled by referring to the leading names of exhibition design and exhibition teams. The research aimed to reveal who the exhibition designer is, at what stages the exhibition process takes place, and who collaborates with them. By focusing on social and cultural exhibitions, it intends to reveal the designer's approach to the exhibition and his solutions to problems according to the content of the exhibition designs. The designs were examined through national and international examples and several topics such as visitor, space, lighting, exhibition methods affecting the process were emphasized. The research was conducted in the form of literature review from primary and secondary sources. Some of the research data were collected in the light of interview records and individual interviews. In the first part of the research, the concept of the exhibition and the design of exhibition were mentioned briefly, and the working areas of the designer were highlighted. In the second part, organizational stages of the creative process of exhibition design were discussed. Finally, in the third part, basis on the stages, how to finalize the process on the axis of the designer was emphasized and what should be considered. As a result of these investigations, an exhibition project was prepared and the process was experienced at site individual.
