Abstract (EN)
Rapid changes and developments in technology provide changes in the communication field as in many fields. It can be told that social media has became a way of communication in various fields in 2000s. Day by day the number of people using social media channels is increasing in addition there are intensively visual contents in social media accounts. Social media users that has the chance to shoot endlessy with smartphones. It is seen to share especially food and beverages and the places you visit on social media accounts. Food visuals can be evaluated as a social language which is a tool for people communicate as a social life and add meaning to culture. It is not wrong to say that this situation increased the interest in gastronomy and gastonomy photography. In addition to all these considering its place and importance in the food industry it is seen as an advertising tool for gastronomy photography. So it has been considered that it is an important factor of the correct use of gastronomy photography on social media. In this study social media channels are associated with gastronomy photography and research is made in terms of visual communication. The aim of the study is to reveal the importance of social media introduction as a visual communication tool in gastronomy photography.
