The representation of perfect motherhood in social media: Sample of instagram

Social media channels which have an important place in most part of our daily life, are developing everyday and increasing the number of their users. Social media, which was previously known and used only by teenagers, has users from alla ge groups nowadays. The concept of family, which is the most basic building block of our culture, has been greatly influenced by social media. In this research, the issue of mothers'-the members of family – using social media was emphasized. It has been researched how the instagram, which is commonly used in our country, affected the mothers and mother profiles that represent perfect motherhood in the instagram. It has been seen that mothers have shared many topics related to infant and child care process through instagram and gathered other mothers under these topics. In the instagram, mothers share many issues as an advice to each other, ranging from the announcement of their pregnancy to the telling of birth stories, from breastfeeding experiences to sleeping problems. In this research , where the qualitative research mehod was adopted, ,it eas aimed to evaluate the changes in motherhood through mother profiles and the current situation.
