Abstract (EN)
All quantitative and qualitative transformations in the communication technologies have provided a new media that all kinds of experiences, emotions, thoughts and products can be shared quickly in an easy way. This social era which is called social media is very important with the aspects of boosting the communication between people and bringing crowds together and being user-based. As any kinds of images, texts, videos and sounds can be shared online, social media has become a platform that has a great potential of interaction between people. As it became popular to produce and share multimedia, especially images, a new kind of image has been formed, which is produced in image processing softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw and Paint. This new kind of image has become a way of communication and also been valued as a graphic product, therefore, a need to examine these graphic products in terms of graphic design principals due to the reason stated before has occurred. In this research, conceptual frameworks about social media and graphic design is formed and, some examples of images processed through design softwares and shared are selected and examined in terms of graphic design principals. This research is foreseen to be useful for this new kinds of images to be produced according to the graphic design principals which has changed through time and also will continue to change due to the technological developments and social events.
