Practices of social responsibility in archaeological field works

The geography we live in has an important place in terms of archaeological values. However, interest in archeology in Turkey is limited to archaeologists and historians. Especially when today's conditions and technological developments are evaluated, it is seen that social studies towards archeology are insufficient. The first step to be taken at this point is to transfer the information obtained in scientific studies to the rest of the society by using the most appropriate methods instead of limiting the archeology science to in-field studies only. Archaeological studies, as in other scientific studies, do not expect any pecuniary expectation to share the information they have reached. However, it is one of the most appropriate methods to realize the practices within the framework of social responsibility. Social responsibility projects, which are still popular in our country in recent years, are widely used by many institutions and organizations. In this context, cooperation between institutions and excavations in archaeological field studies and practices to be made in order to protect and raise awareness of cultural heritage in our country will provide information to the society and to share the studies with the society. Case studies started to be realized in our country since the beginning of 2000s, are progressing with accumulations in order to raise awareness and contribute to education in the field of protection and promotion of cultural heritage. The social responsibility projects in the field studies included in this thesis were evaluated with the sustainability of their studies and the applications in their content. In addition to the fact that the projects that started in archaeological field studies also inspired museums' practices, museum trainings and workshop activities were also included in the thesis.
