Abstract (EN)
The relation between Turkey and Azerbaijan have continued to increase in prestige since the first day it started. The proximity of two countries with potential for growth has brought about diplomatic, commercial, social and strategic development. We saw one of the most basic examples of this closeness in the Second Karabakh War against Armenia in 2020. Although Armenia is not a regional power, it has become a strategic region under Russian hegemony. The immigration policy implemented by Russia strengthened the Armenians in Karabakh and the Armenians began to take place as a decision-making factor on the region. The direct impact of Russia on the ethnic structure of the region paved the way for massacres and forced migrations. As a result of all this, the feelings of enmity and grudge against each other have been going on for years, both on the Azerbaijani side and on the Armenian side. Since the occupation years, conflicts have been constantly observed on the border line of Azerbaijan and Armenia. As a matter of fact, a large part of the occupied lands was liberated with the 44-day "Iron Fist" operation of Azerbaijan, which started on September 27, 2020. Turkey's influence on the road to independence in Karabakh has been non-negligible. By taking an active role in the region, Turkey pushed Russia to be cautious which has caused Armenia to be left alone. It is observed that Azerbaijan has achieved significant gains in the international arena and geography with the Karabakh Region, which joined the motherland.
