Abstract (EN)

Fuses are among the most basic security measures of systems that house electronic circuit boards. There are three types of industrial, military and space type fuses according to the usage areas of the fuses with different types according to the place of use in the circuit. Fuse circuits are used for power distribution of critical loads that do not require an external ON/OFF function fed directly from the main power bus or remain in continuous transmission. Some factors are taken into consideration in the selection of fuses which used in these circuits. These factors are such as in-rush current characteristic of the load which is connected to circuit, nominal current and voltage values, reduction in current carrying capacity as a result of its life time. There have been cases where the catalog information of the fuses to be used is not sufficient or that this information is required to be verified. Verifying the compatibility of industrial and space type fuses with the system to be used by making detonation tests and comparing them with analysis. For this purpose, a test system has been designed and manufactured. At the same time, this explosion test is a reliable method for comparing the fuses of different companies with the same catalog value. The capacitor bank charge process is controlled by two serial relays on the DC line and discharge process is controlled by a thyristor. When the first relay (control to charge system) is switched on, the capacitor bank is fully charged with autotransformer voltage. After the capacitor bank is charged, the system performs a fuse test by activating thyristor. In addition, the voltage on the capacitor is measured and the recovery time of the main bus after the fuse blows is recorded. A microprocessor control circuit has been designed for all control and measurement processes.
