Abstract (EN)
İn this study we retrospectively analysed patients that were reoperated in our clinic due to failed spinal fusion with instrumentation. 12 of these patients were randomly selected and the pedicle screws were analysed to determine the compound of the screws. The screws were analysed for the amounts of titanium , aluminium and nitrogen We aimed to determine whether the compound of the screws played a role in failure of the surgery and especially whether there was a difference between compound of the broken screws and the intact ones.Statistical analysis was made usin Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Vallis tests. There was no statistically significant difference between the broken and intact screws in regard to compound. This result made us think about factors like screw size, patient selection and establishing the right indication. Before considerig spinal fusion with instrumentation the right patient, right indication , right materials and strict rules in the postoperative period should be regarded
