Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the leadership concepts of students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences. Within the scope of the purpose of the study, individuals of Akdeniz University Sports Sciences, consisting of 200 people, 111 women and 89 men participated in the study. For the collection of data, The Leadership Scale for Sports developed by Chelladuria and Saleh (1980) and adapted by Tiryaki for Turkey; (SLÖ) leadership form was used. Scale items are in the form of "5-point Likert Type Scale". Likert options are listed as "Very Often", "Often", "Occasionally", "Rarely", "Never" and analyzed accordingly. In the statistical, analysis frequency distributions, descriptive statistics and for data analysis SPSS statistics program comparisons were used to create and present the findings in a tabular form. When we look at the purpose of our research in general, it is to determine the effect of the education of the students studying at the University of Sport Sciences on the Leadership Styles according to their departments. When we look at the answers of the questions: There are similarities between the students of the two departments in terms of rewarding good performances, planning of group members, resolving conflicts within the group, and the suitability of the members' capacity to work. There are close similarities between the students of both departments in terms of believing the necessity of the members to adhere to the standards and rules, the importance of consulting the group about what to do, the willingness of the group members to evaluate their own success, the belief that the members can make the right decision. An interesting result among the answers is that the students of both departments do not want to be the spokespersons of their groups and prefer to be in the background. The students of the two departments differ in terms of being distant to the group members, their ideas will be more beneficial to the group, being the representative of the group, and allowing their employees to make their own decisions in problem solving. Looking at the results of the study, there are leadership and behavioral similarities between departments as well as differences. It can be said that these similarities and differences stem from the small differences in the courses taken, the leadership understanding of the lecturer, or the personal characteristics of the students.
