Abstract (EN)

This study, which was conducted to examine the effect of educational practices based on administrative adventure on mental processes and the permanence level of this effect, is important as it will benefit individuals from all works of life in individual and organizational terms. The study comprised of two parts, a one-day pilot and a 12-week main study. These studies were designed according to the mixed research method using qualitative and quantitative techniques. Main work was structured as an experimental design with control group pretest, posttest and follow-up test, pilot study was structured as a quasi-experimental design with single group pretest, posttest without control group. The sample of the study consists of a total of 116 individuals (37 females and 79 male) determined by a convenience sampling method, which is one of the non-random sampling methods. The personal information form, "Adventure Education Outcomes Scale" developed by Özen and Yalçın (2010) and a semi-structured interview form with two questions were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis, quantitative data were analyzed using t-tests in related and unrelated samples and repeated measures were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance. Findings obtained after analysis showed that the scores of the applications related to the sub-dimensions of the scale increased in favor of the participants and this increase continued. The internal consistency coefficients for the sub-dimensions of the scale for all study groups ranged from α = .53 to α = .91. As a result of the analysis of the qualitative data, it was determined that the detected codes coincided with the mental processes in the sub-dimensions of the scale. As a result, it was determined that adventure-based training practices had a positive effect on mental processes in the sample, although this effect continued in a long term, such as one year, but showed a non-significant decrease.
