Creating object from CAD information with STL format

Nowadays, there are problems in the supply of spare parts in almost every field. The reason for these problems may be that the production cannot keep up with the demand, or that the product that needs parts is no longer produced. There is a need to manufacture the object by creating modeling by reverse engineering method of mechanical parts that are not produced but needed or damaged mechanical parts. A solution can be storing the drawing files of all parts of a product to be reproduced and to create the needed part through 3D printers by taking the drawing of the part from these files, even after years, who needs it. However, considering the size of the drawing files, it may make this impossible for products with hundreds of parts. If the files to be stored are considered as STL formatted files, they will take up less space than drawing formats. In our study, the object was drawn in the MATLAB software environment from STL formatted files using reverse engineering method. After the drawing is created in MATLAB, the user can make changes in any part of the object as he wishes, and the drawing is also drawn and made available in the Solidworks program using the Api interface. It is our aim to present a basic idea for the further studies to be carried out in our country on subjects presented in this thesis.
