Analysis of 500 biggest industrial establishment as a matter of strategic logistics partnerships' implementation level in Turkey

As a result of changes in political, economic and social structures in the world, companies meet lots of innovations. In recent years in the wake of changing competition rules logistics sector become more popular as it provides advantages about consumer satisfaction and competitive power. Awareness about usage of logistics not only for cost reduction also for revenue creation make logistics more important.There are several opinions about managing logistics effectively and efficiently. Strategic logistics partnerships are one of the beneficial tools used in logistics management. As a result of costly and specialized structure of logistical activities and relationships, it is seen that companies join in a partnership in order to create synergy.The main aim of this study is determining importance of logistics concept and confirming how logistics partnerships can be used in this area. In this context relationship of logistics with business functions, supply chain management, evaluation of logistics related with competitive power and new approaches are examined in the study together with general definitions about logistics concept. In addition to this beginning with strategic partnerships structure of strategic logistics partnerships is evaluated, success factors and possible problems are determined. Also basic points in choosing partner company are investigated.In the research section of the study, structure of sector in Turkey and in the world is analysed. It is aimed to determine necessities about the sector in Turkey by the help of comparision of the world and the country. After this survey results about determining application level of strategic logistics partnerships among 500 Biggest Endustrial Association are analysed. In addition to examination of factors related with logistics partnerships, expectations, gains and possible problems are investigated in order to make a due diligence.Key Words: Logistics, Strategic Partnerships, Strategic Logistics Partnerships
