Abstract (EN)

Astroke is a condition in which part or all of the body loses mobility. Like a heart attack, a stroke is a cerebrovascular health problem caused by bleeding, blockage or narrowing of blood vessels. The brain does not get enough oxygen or nutrients and brain cells begin to die. While many strokes can be treated, some can lead to disability or death. In our study, SARM-1 and GFAP levels, which we think may have a role in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, were examined. Blood samples were taken from 45 patients diagnosed with stroke and 40 healthy controls who applied to Harran University Faculty of Medicine Neurology clinic. The levels of SARM-1 and GFAP in serum samples obtained from the blood samples were examined by ELISA method. The data were analyzed by SPSS. As a result of the statistical analysis, the mean SARM-1 level and GFAP level in patients diagnosed with stroke were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.001). As a result of the study, it was concluded that SARM-1 and GFAP seem to have a role in elucidating the etiology of stroke and developing new methods for the treatment of the disease, so more studies should be investigated on the relationship between SARM-1 and GFAP levels in stroke.
