Abstract (EN)
Due to large progress in technology and increase in welfare, the usage of electronic devices that produce electromagnetic radiation started to become more widespread. The radiation coming from such devices became a big threat for human and also for electrical devices due to EMI problem. In order to prevent the harmful effect of electromagnetic radiation on both human and gadgets, microwave shields, those absorb or reflect such radiations, have been designed. Textile industry is one of the most suitable area in terms of the applicability of electromagnetic radiation shielding agent. Because it is possible to add a lot of features to textile surfaces thanks to innovations in finishing processes. In this study, magnetic nanoparticles at different ratios have been combined with polyester melt by extrusion process. The magnetite nanoparticle containing PET masterbatches then have been converted to filaments by melt spinning techonology. Such filaments were converted to textile fabrics by knitting technology. The filaments and/or fabrics were characterised with respect to their radiation shielding, physical, chemical and structural properties.
