Abstract (EN)

It is obvious that exhaust gases from marine diesel engines have a great many effects on human beings and environment. To limit these emissions, regulations have been done by MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships). NOx emissions arising from ships, particularly since 2016, are severely limited.NOx emissions control methods can be investigated into two main topic; taking precautions inside the cylinder and outside the cylinder. The most important point is to optimize the emissions and engine performance parameters; namely, whilst the emissions reduce, engine performance parameters increase.In this study, analysis of the effects of exhaust gases recirculation (EGR) on single-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine on full load condition with steam injection system in different ratios to the intake manifold to performance and emission parameters were carried out experimentally and theoretically.In theoretical study, single-zone combustion model is done in different ratios of steam and EGR.In experimental study, three different steam and EGR (% 10, % 20 and % 30) ratios were compared according to emissions and performance parameters.Optimum conditions were determined by means of Taguchi method.In addition, results that obtained in the experimental study were trained in the Artificial Neural Network and experimental and predicted results were compared each other.
