Abstract (EN)
As a result of the rapid increase in the world population and the diversification of water use with the effect of the industrial revolution and the greater use of water in industry, fresh water resources have gradually decreased and discussions on water have increased. Increasing world population and urbanization, accelerating environmental problems and hydrological variables increase the negative effects on limited water resources. Population growth will create a bigger global problem in accessing water and the lack of water will increase existing problems. The aim of the study is to reveal that the commodification of water, which is brought as a solution to the decrease in clean water resources, will adversely affect life. In addition to the arguments developed within the framework of the protection of water resources, the basic human right nature of water and the monetary value of access to potable water were discussed. In this framework, in the first part, the concepts related to the quality of water as a basic human right, in the second part the legal foundations of the right to water, and in the third part, water management with the commodification of water are discussed.
